Il Teatro Non Si Rassegna Shakespeare Edition 2022
For the second year in a row, the Archè Theatre presents the Festival titled Il Teatro Non-Si Rassegna (literally, the Theater does not give up) in an all-Shakespearean edition. The initiative, within the AMOntediProcida program, will be held on August 19, 20 and 21 at Villa Matarese, thanks to the Municipality of Monte di Procida's patronage and support. Il Teatro Non Si Rassegna consists of a festival with three evenings, including performances and related cultural events. We at Al Chiar di Luna are pleased to have been involved by the Association for a contribution to the event. The three evening performances, the centrepiece of the Festival and all centred on Bard's work, will feature two guests of international level!

For the occasion, the entire Villa will turn into a Shakespeare garden, and every evening, starting on the 19th, Villa Matarese's first floor will host the Shakespeare edition costume and theatre tailoring exhibition curated by Sartoria Teatrale Canzanella - Ctn 75, the oldest film-theater tailoring company in Naples. Once again, opening the Festival this year on August 19, the Contest aims to support artistic projects of young theatre realities under 35 and selects three works, each winner of a residency on the national territory. The partners of this edition will be the companies Diesis Teatrango - Bucine (Arezzo), Il Casale - Grizzana Morandi (Bologna), and Théâtre De Poche - Naples that will host the winning companies in their spaces during the 2022/2023 theatre season. The three winners will also be called upon to "compete" for a further prize: to be included in the playbill of Il Teatro Non Si Rassegna 3rd edition. The groups will show their work, and two different juries will be asked to vote: one made up of insiders and one made up of the public; the event takes place in collaboration with Teatro di Napoli, Teatri Uniti and Teatro Bellini. Il Teatro Non Si Rassegna is not just a way of saying to ward off all the bad things the last few years have left to the theatre and the world of art. It is a significant initiative to return to good emotions and reconnect minds and hearts on the right wavelength. Archè pursues cultural, social and artistic goals, striving to forge and intensify friendship and cultural relations between internal members and those of similar formations to improve the most frequent exchange of ideas.
The Archè Theatre and Cultural Association was founded in Monte di Procida, in the province of Naples, in November 2002.
It proposes, by statute, cultural, social and artistic purposes, striving for the establishment and intensification of friendship and cultural relations between internal members and those belonging to similar companies, associations and formations, both Italian and foreign, to improve their mutual understanding and the more frequent exchange of ideas. In this regard, the Association aims to continuously interact with new forms of performances, collection of materials, and connection with any reality helpful to be involved in its projects. For most of the members, performing arts are their profession, specializing in the different fields of dramaturgy, directing and playing in the most outstanding Italian training centres (Teatro Stabile di Genova, Civica Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi in Milan, Bellini Teatro Factory in Naples, Teatro Stabile di Napoli). Furthermore, there is no shortage of professional set designers (Academy of Fine Arts in Naples), makeup artists (BCM European School of Makeup), and costume designers (CTN 75 Canzanella). First and foremost, Archè carries out design, production, organization, promotion, spreading and distribution activities in the theatre field. It organizes and manages performance activities and reviews; supports theatrical, film, music, art and multimedia festivals; and manages or co-manages study centres and workshops in the areas of expertise.
Archè is also committed to promoting the territory's resources, enhancing its places, history, culture, traditions and typical productions, and upgrading abandoned structures or spaces, archaeological and related sites by creating performance events, theatre reviews and permanent workshops.
