Monte di Procida has been recognised as the European Municipality of Sport 2023, an important designation for the sports community and citizenship. Being a European Municipality of Sports means promoting and spreading sports values, physical activity and healthy life, both locally and at a European scale.

Following the official nomination, on March 28, 2022, Al Chiar di Luna held one of the first events and arranged a meeting with Francesco Moser, one of the greatest Italian cyclists. 
Giro d'Italia in Monte di Procida and Bacoli in Naples. A stage dedicated to Procida Capital of Culture: May 14, 2022
A sponsor of the Maglia Azzurra and the Italian cycling race Giro d'Italia for 20 years, Banca Mediolanum organises the Mediolanum Pedalata (or pedalling) for each stage of the tour, reserved for the bank's customers and guests.
Our location was the rendezvous for the pedal ride on the stage route: we welcomed about 30 cyclists who registered for the ride getting refuelled before leaving.
We had the honour of welcoming some champions among the guests, such as Alessandro Ballan, Paolo Bettini and Maurizio Fondriest. Mediolanum's press office and journalist Stefania Andriola were also present.
Being involved with Banca Mediolanum was a great emotion in such a historic event as the Giro d'Italia for Monte di Procida.
Giro d’Italia across the Campi Flegrei in 2022
After 40 years, in 2022, the Giro d'Italia is back to the Campi Flegrei! The municipalities of Bacoli and Monte di Procida were very welcoming: balconies dressed in pink, lots of children and families out on the streets wearing pink T-shirts and caps, festively decorated streets, and so much excitement at the cyclists' arrival.
